Each season, the Kamloops Symphony aims to present several educational concerts for district public and private schools and home school families, providing students with fun and educational live orchestral music experiences.
These concerts are created using excerpts from our regular season programming with added descriptive narrative and audience participation. Performances are presented in Sagebrush Theatre, giving many students their first introduction to a public concert venue. Participating classroom teachers receive a study guide containing links to samples of the music to be performed, a list of suggested activities to use in preparation for the performance, and opportunities to share their projects with other students.

Note: Due to the evolving nature of the COVID-19 Pandemic, and their effect on audience sizes, our educational concerts are currently under review.
The Wild Orchestra
Originally performed on November 7, 2021, this is a fun, family friendly concert that introduces the orchestra to audiences with the help of Secwepemc storyteller Chris Bose, and two world premieres of works by Kamloops-born composers Ryan Noakes and Kevin Mulligan. New illustrations by Susan Mark accompanying L'Histoire de Babar cap off the performance.
