The KSO is excited to present Discovery Matinees, a unique opportunity for high school students to experience the world of orchestral music up close. These open rehearsals are designed to inspire and educate the next generation of musicians and music lovers.
Discovery Matinees are special open rehearsals where students can witness the behind-the-scenes process of preparing for a concert. These sessions provide a rare glimpse into the dedication, teamwork, and artistry that go into every KSO performance.
While Discovery Matinees are open to the public, they are primarily targeted at high school students. Teachers are encouraged to bring their classes to these events, offering students a chance to see professional musicians in action and to learn about the various elements that contribute to a live orchestral performance.
