Relaxed Performances are one-hour, sensory-friendly concerts that have been adapted to suit people who might require a more relaxed environment when going to a concert. Typically, these are adults or children with learning difficulties, autism, or sensory communication disorders. Here are the key features of Relaxed Performances:

Who are Relaxed Performances for?

Relaxed performances are specifically tailored for individuals who might benefit from a more accommodating concert experience. These include people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), learning difficulties, sensory communication disorders, families with young children, seniors, or anyone seeking a relaxed atmosphere during concerts. The goal is to create an inclusive environment where everyone can enjoy the performance.

Elements of a Relaxed Performance

  • Movement and noise are welcome!
  • We have limited capacity in the concert hall to allow audience members to move around throughout the concert.
  • House lights will only be slightly dimmed, allowing for more comfort and an informal experience.
  • The doors to the concert hall will remain open. You are welcome to leave and enter the concert hall as needed.
  • The use of communication boards or other electronic devices is welcome.
  • A relaxation station will be available in the lobby should you need a break during the show
  • A limited number of ear plugs are available on-site and can be requested in the lobby. Please feel free to bring your own ear coverings or sensory devices.
