Dear Kamloops Symphony Patron,
Let’s face it. This has been hard for everyone. We are all being challenged in ways we couldn’t have imagined a few short weeks ago. As all of us work to stay connected through various virtual means, we want to share a bit about what’s been happening here at the Kamloops Symphony, as we navigate our current realities.
Of course, the postponement of our remaining concerts this Season, and Barb’s Used Book & Music Sale has considerably affected our organization, and the artists that we partner with. However, we’re confident that we will get through this, and are working on several initiatives that will hopefully better us all.
Our 2020-21 Season
We are eager to push through optimistically, because like all of you, we want something to look forward to at the end of this. We’re hard at work at getting the final details set for an exciting year ahead. Although we have pushed back when we will be launching it publicly, you’ll start to see us tease out details until we are ready for the big reveal. We can’t wait to share what we have planned for you, and we hope that you will be as excited about it as we are.
Organizational Resilience
With the postponement of our remaining concerts this season, our administrative team is taking the opportunity to reflect on ways we can better ourselves, so that we can be stronger at delivering the musical experiences you have come to love. This includes restructuring some of our processes and getting to some of those projects that may have been left to the sidelines. Think of it as spring cleaning!
Getting to Know You!
And finally, no orchestra is relevant without an audience. So, we’re going to use this time to get to know you, our patrons and ticket holders. In the coming months, we’ll be reaching out to you as individuals, to find out more about the things you care for, so we can better tailor experiences for you in the future.
Please stay tuned for updates from us. Thank you for all your support, and together, we will make it through this. We can’t wait to share music with you again, and until then we wish you thoughts of good health and compassion.
With appreciation,
Dina Gilbert, Music Director
Daniel Mills, Executive Director
