I saw famed flutists James Galway on Sesame Street and Jean-Pierre Rampal on the Muppets Show and I was HOOKED!
Where did you study?
Growing up in rural Maine - there were not many choices. I started with a wonderful teacher named Kathy Iovieno who did her schooling in Boston with James Pappoutsakis (former 2nd flute in the Boston Symphony).

Aside from music - I am an internationally renowned giant pumpkin grower.
If you could have dinner with any composer (living or dead) who would it be and why?
I would have to say Dmitri Shostakovich. He lived through and persevered through such a difficult time.

Several Vancouver based groups including: Ventos Wind Quintet (fl, ob, cl, hn, bsn), Trio Primario (fl, cl, piano), Erato Ensemble (vocal chamber ensemble), Winter Harp (award winning touring group), Plastic Acid Orchestra, Vancouver Island Symphony
What are some interesting places you have traveled to?
Aruba, all over the USA
What are your hobbies outside of music?
Gardening, gourmet cooking, hiking/mountain climbing, knitting, photography
What is your favourite flavour of ice cream?
Ben and Jerry's "Chubby Hubby" - peanut butter and fudge rippled malt ice cream with chocolate covered peanut butter filled pretzel chunks
What is your guilty pleasure?
Going to the movies and getting a huge tub of popcorn!
Do you get nervous? And how do you calm your nerves before a performance?
Generally I don't get nervous especially when taking the necessary steps to prepare for a performance. If I do, just deep breathing and centering techniques.
