Our perennially popular semi-annual fundraiser, Barbs Used Book & Music Sale, is returning to St. Andrew's on the Square (159 Seymour Street) for the Spring 2024 edition of the sale. Shoppers can visit the biggest and best sale of gently used books, music, and more from April 6 to April 20. The sale will be open the following hours:
- Sundays – 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm
- Monday to Friday – 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm
- Saturdays – 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
We have once again received large quantities of generously donated gently used books, sheet music, vinyl records, and CDs. After more than 25 years of providing great reads at an unbeatable price, most items will now be available for $3 instead of the previous $2 starting point, keeping it very affordable for shoppers to stock up on some spring and summer reading. All children's books will remain at $2 each.
This semi-annual sale has been wonderfully successful for so many years due to its highly organized donations of books and music, and our amazing team of dedicated volunteers. All money raised by the sale goes towards our operating expenses, which includes everything from concert productions to educational programs.
Donations
Donations will be gratefully accepted at St. Andrew's on the Square from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm from Monday, April 1 to Wednesday, April 3. We are unable to accept tattered/dirty books, magazines, Readers Digest, encyclopedias & textbooks, and VHS & cassette tapes, and ask you to please ensure that you do not include these items in your drop off. There are four book recycling bins that the City of Kamloops has provided throughout the city, and magazines can go into your home recycle bin.
Running consistently since 1997, the sale was spearheaded by Barb Corbishley who was one of our board members at the time. After her unfortunate passing, it was named Barb's Used Book & Music Sale in her honour.
