We want to invite you to join us for our next three digital concert experiences, as part of our Spring Series.

The first involves a unique intercontinental collaboration with sand artists in sync to music, the second showcases the music of Jazz legend Charlie Parker, and the third features a sometimes-forgotten instrument of the string section, the Viola! All are of course conducted by our own Music Director, Dina Gilbert.

In addition to selling individual tickets we are also offering online access to each concert as part of a 3-Pack Mini Subscription! All 3-Pack holders will get an invitation to an exclusive live Q+A session with Music Director Dina Gilbert, so you can hear more about the projects directly from her.

We’re very proud to be able to continue programming high-quality experiences for you and hope you will be able to join us.

Sounds In Sand

Available to view from Saturday, March 13 to Sunday, April 11.

We are adding a visual twist to this concert experience. Watch Russian sand artists Marina & Eva Sosnina craft elegant real-time artwork in sync with the music in a unique, intercontinental collaboration. This mother-daughter duo will “paint” along to a “modestly modern” arrangement of Mussorgsky’s classic Pictures at an Exhibition for chamber orchestra and create a brand-new work along to Iranian Canadian composer Iman Habibi’s Radiant Light.

We are bending genres by exploring the works of jazz legend Charlie Parker. Joined by one of Canada’s most important Jazz impresarios, Cory Weeds, and his high caliber jazz quartet, the KSO will tackle tunes from The Bird’s pivotal recordings Charlie Parker with Strings, along with a few of Cory’s original tunes. Perfect for jazz aficionados, and classical adventurists alike.

Voilà Viola

Available to view from Friday, April 23 to Saturday, May 22.

We are shining a light on the sometimes-forgotten member of the string section: the viola. Sought-after Canadian soloist, Marina Thibeault plays the ethereal and folkloric Viola Concerto by Latvian composer Peteris Vasks. Grieg’s Holberg Suite, and the Concerto for Strings by Nino Rota, best known for his soundtrack to The Godfather, round out this adventurous concert experience.
