Our 2018-2019 season is a celebration of the people and traditions that give Kamloops its special flavour. But, it is also a new direction, reflecting the quality and diversity of our region.

This season is all about embracing collaboration with the arts community. Our programming highlights the talents and traditions that make Kamloops great, while welcoming some of the best musicians and creators our country has to offer.

We open and close our season with two exceptional works by composers from the BC Interior, Stacey Brown and Keiko Devaux, each in their own way emblematic of the talent and creativity of our region. The season continues with many of the great masterworks of the symphonic repertoire, as well as a series of special themed concerts, building towards a celebratory climax of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana. For this grand finale we are joined on stage by several excellent local choirs, attesting to the great local choral tradition.

We are also honoured to welcome a roster of Canadian musicians of outstanding vision and talent including cellist Anna Burden, violinists Kerson Leong and Yolanda Bruno and pianist Mathieu Gaudet. Renowned conductor Jean-Michaël Lavoie joins us for a program devoted to Beethoven, and Israeli-born American conductor Yaniv Attar leads our holiday season concert.

I invite you to join us and allow yourselves to be drawn in and swept away by the music. My colleagues and I couldn’t be more excited to share this season with you!
