When the pandemic first started to take hold in B.C., we made an initial announcement to postpone the remaining concerts of our 2019-20 Season. We sincerely hoped that we would be able to remount them when it was safe to do so.
Unfortunately, although businesses are beginning to reopen in B.C,, the projected timelines around the restrictions of gatherings, along with the health implications around the performance of live classical music, have forced us to reconsider what can be done while keeping in mind the safety of our performers, audiences and community.
As such, the Kamloops Symphony has made the difficult decision to cancel our previously postponed concerts “Luminous Voices” (scheduled on April 11, 2020) and “A Sense of Wonder” (originally scheduled on May 2 & 3, 2020). Although not what we originally hoped, we feel this is the responsible and safe decision for everyone involved.
All paid ticket holders to one or both concerts are asked to choose one of the options below:
- Donate the value of the tickets back to the Kamloops Symphony and receive an official tax receipt for the 2020 year;
- Apply the value of the tickets as a credit to future Kamloops Symphony performances; or, if neither of these options are possible in these challenging times,
- Request a refund.
As the Kamloops Symphony is a registered charity, we would very much appreciate the donation option, as this would strengthen our capacity to continue providing live music for you going forward. Rest assured, we are hard at work developing suitable musical experiences for you starting in the fall.
Please let us know of your choice as soon as it is convenient for you, in order to assist us in wrapping up our operations for the year. If we do not hear back from you by the end of June, we will credit your account until we receive further communication.
